Career Ladder Letter to the Editor-Joplin Globe

The Career Ladder program in Missouri in pays teacher to spend their time outside the school day tutoring students, contacting parents, planning after-school activities, planning new and engaging units of study, etc.  Funding for the program is in danger of being cut this year because of a tight budget.  Senator Gary Nodler is my state senator and the chair of the Finance Committee that budgets the money.

I thought our two articles gave a good, well-round debate about the topic, presenting both sides of the issue while agreeing in principal.
