K12 Online Conference Reflection #17
This is my reflection on the K12 Online conference presentation:
New Tools
“Flat Agents of Change”
by Cheryl Oakes Wells, ME, Bob Sprankle Wells, ME, Alice Barr
Kennebunkport, Maine
What were the main points made during this session, the “takeaways?”
- A voicethread about how to sign up for Ning to join the Seedlings Ning
- How to post your Podcast Podcast session on the Ning.
- How to post a reflection on the Ning
- How to create a Podcast People account and podcast form Gizmo.
- How to set up Gizmo, call, and record
In terms of your own professional development, what did you gain from the session?
I found the out-of-order parts of the presentation confusing.
If Gizmo is better, I may use it instead of Skype.
What questions did you have after this presentation?
Did I miss something between part 1 and part 2? Part 1 showed how to sign up, but part 2 started with “now that you have recorded your podcast…”
I made a podcast with Gizmo? I think part 3 is out of order too.
Gizmo seems to work a lot like Skype. Does it cost to talk to someone with Gizmo on a real phone like it does in Skype?
How will you apply the learning to your professional situation?
I like Ning, but I cannot use it at school (blocked). It does make a good PLN tool though.
I’ll have to try Podcast people with my students to see if it is easier than recording and editing with Audacity and then uploading and posting it to our class blog.
What other resources (including reading material) are relevant to this session?
