K12Online2007 Conference Reflection #13
This is my reflection on the K12 Online conference presentation:
New Tools
“The Electric Slide! Twenty-First Century Style”
by Kurt Paccio and James Gates
What were the main points made during this session, the “takeaways?”
sPresent
- Signing up for sPresent
- Adding elements to a slide
- Adding images to a slide
- Adding Youtube videos
- Changing the background of the slides
- Imbedding sPresent slideshows
Splashcast
- About splashcast
- How to do a splashcast
- Embed in Wiki
- Why embed a splashcast in a wiki
- threaded discussions
- commenting
In terms of your own professional development, what did you gain from the session?
Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical psp
I would like to share slideshows I make with others, and this seems a good way to do that.
I had trouble downloading part 2 of this presentation. I listened to the audio, but it is harder to listen to a presentation showing how to do something. Visuals really help when showing how to.
What questions did you have after this presentation?
My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas ipod download Revelation movie
The Land That Time Forgot movie How is sPresent different or the same as other online slideshows like slideshare?
Rocky III divx
Can Splashcast bring in pictures from other photo-sharing sites?
Is this easier than Voicethread
Synergy: Visions of Vibe full movie
for telling digital stories?
Our thin clients can’t use Flash. Does Splashcast use Flash?
How will you apply the learning to your professional situation?
My students could view the slideshow again after the lesson on their computers.
It is nice that Splashcast integrates so well with Flickr. If I’m careful how I use groups in Flickr, we may be able to use it a lot.
We could make a digital story by adding the sound to a powerpoint slideshow with pictures on each slide. It’s nice that we can include sound with the narrative. Since it has multiple channels, they could include sound effects with the narrative.
What other resources (including reading material) are relevant to this session?
